The Florida Panthers have recalled goaltender Samuel Montembeault from their American Hockey League affiliate, the Springfield Thunderbirds on an emergency basis.

Montembeault, 22, has appeared in 37 games for Springfield, owning a 13-14-8 record, a 3.16 goals against average, .901 save percentage and one shutout. The 6-foot-3, 208-pound native of Becancour, QC represented the Thunderbirds at the 2019 AHL All-Star Classic.

Over his first two professional seasons, Montembeault has appeared in 78 career AHL games, posting a 26-37-11 mark, 3.21 goals against average, .898 save percentage and three shutouts.

He was originally selected by Florida in the third round (77th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft.
