Luostarinen picks up an assist in Liiga action

Florida Panthers prospect Eetu Luostarinen drew an assist on KalPa’s first goal in a 5-2 win over TPS in Tuesdady action from Finland’s Liiga. Luostarinen is in a three-way tie for the club scoring lead with seven points (2G/5A) in six games.

Aleksi Saarela was held off the score sheet and finished with an ugly -4 rating in Lukko’s 7-2 loss to KooKoo. Saarela has eight goals and one assist for Lukko, who lost for just the second time

The Colorado Avalanche signed defenseman Devon Toews to a four-year contact worth $16.4 million, avoiding a scheduled arbitration hearing. Colorado acquired the 26-year-old RFA from the cap-strapped New York Islanders on October 12. (Mile High Hockey)

Tyler Bertuzzi was awarded a one-year, $3.5 million contract with the Detroit Red Wings after an arbitration hearing. Bertuzzi scored 21 goals and 27 assists in 71 games playing on Detroit’s top line in 2019-20. (Winging It In Motown)

The Carolina Hurricanes re-signed defenseman Haydn Fleury to a two-year deal worth $2.6 million. Fleury registered 14 points and -2 rating in 45 games with the Hurricanes last season. (Canes Country)

The Winnipeg Jets re-signed left wing Jansen Harkins to a two-year contract worth $1.45 million. Harkins, 23, appeared in 29 games with Jets last season and scored two goals and five assists. (TSN)

The Washington Capitals have signed Hendrix Lapierre to an entry-level contract. Washington elected Lapierre with the 22nd overall pick in 2020 after the 18-year-old put up 17 points in 19 games for the Chicoutimi Saguenéens of the QMJHL. (RMNB)

Joshua Ho-Sang and the New York Islanders agreed to a new one-year, two-way contract, avoiding an arbitration hearing. Ho-Sang played in 22 AHL games with the Bridgeport Sound Tigers and San Antonio Rampage last season, producing four goals and 13 points. (Newsday)

The Columbus Blue Jackets re-signed forward Calvin Thurkauf to a one-year, two-way deal. Thurkauf appeared in his first three NHL games for the Blue Jackets last season while also playing 53 games for the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL. (CBS Sports)

The Ottawa Senators re-signed center Filip Chlapik to a one-year, two-way deal. Chlapik appeared in 31 NHL games with Ottawa and produced three goals and three assists last season. (Silver Seven)
