Saarela picks up an assist in Lukko’s win over HIFK

Three members of the Florida Panthers were involved in yesterday’s Liiga game that saw Lukko post a 4-0 shutout win over HIFK.

Aleksi Saarela drew the primary assist with a nice backhand pass on Roni Sevanen’s goal 3:53 into the third period that put Lukko up 2-0.

Saarela finished the game with two shots on goal, took a hooking minor and went +1 in 17:49 of ice time.

The 23-year-old has racked up 12 goals and six assists in 18 games this season.

HIFK’s Anton Lundell registered a whopping 8 shots on goal and finished with a -2 rating in 19:21 TOI.

Lundell has produced 12 goals and 8 assists in 17 games this season.

Henrik Borgstrom had one shot on goal and finished with a -1 rating in 16:12 of ice time.

Borgstrom has totaled one goal and two assists in five games for HIFK.

Santtu Kinnunen collected an assist on the game’s final goal in Tappara’s 4-2 loss to Sport.

Kinnunen logged 19:36 of ice time, had three shots on goal, and finished the game with an even rating.

The 18-year-old has played in 18 games and collected two assists this season.

In the KHL, Vladislav Kolyachonok logged 18:05 TOI and finished with one shot, three blocks, and an even rating in Dinamo Minsk’s 5-1 win over Neftekhimik.

Kolyachonok has produced one goal and three assists in 28 games this season.

Emil Heineman didn’t register a shot on goal, had two hits, posted a -1 rating and logged 14:09 TOI in Leksands IF’s 3-0 loss to Djurgarden in Swedish Hockey League action.

Heineman has scored two goals and one assists in 18 games this season.
