The National Hockey League’s three-day slate of exhibition games ended yesterday with the final three tune-up games played in Edmonton and Toronto.
Boone Jenner, Zach Werenski, Gustav Nyquist and Alexandre Texier scored, and Joonas Korpisalo and Elvis Merzlikins combined for 23 saves for the Columbus Blue Jackets in a rather easy 4-1 win over the Boston Bruins. David Pastrnak scored the only Boston goal.
Our old friend Reilly Smith scored a shorthanded goal and a power-play marker in the first period to power the Vegas Golden Knights to a 4-1 win over the Arizona Coyotes. Marc-Andre Fleury went the distance and made 22 saves for the Golden Knights.
