Vancouver knocks out the champs, Flyers advance

The St. Louis Blues reign came to an abrupt end last night in Edmonton, while in Toronto, the Philadelphia Flyers finally took care of the Montreal Canadiens. Round Two of the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs starts tonight when the Dallas Stars face the Colorado Avalanche.

Vancouver Canucks 6, St. Louis Blues 2

Former Florida Panthers goalie Jacob Markstrom made 34 saves, and the Vancouver Canucks eliminated the defending champion St. Louis Blues from the Stanley Cup Playoffs with a 6-2 win in Game 6. Vancouver will play the No. 1 seed Vegas Golden Knights next, with the series starting on Sunday.

Vancouver wins series four games to two.

Philadelphia Flyers 3, Montreal Canadiens 2

Carter Hart made 31 saves, Kevin Hayes had a goal and an assist, and the Philadelphia Flyers eliminated the Montreal Canadiens with a 3-2, Game 6 win. The Flyers will take on the New York Islanders next, with the series starting on Monday. Nick Suzuki scored both goals for Montreal.

Philadelphia wins series four games to two.
