Vegas and Boston post Game One wins

In Edmonton, Robin Lehner showed Marc-Andre Fleury’s agent Allan Walsh that maybe coach Pete DeBoer knows what he is doing when it comes to handling his goaltenders, and Boston jumped out to a big lead on Tampa Bay before holding on for a one-goal win in Toronto.

Vegas Golden Knights 5, Vancouver Canucks 0

Former Florida Panthers forwards Reilly Smith and Jonathan Marchessault scored goals, Smith also added an assist, and Robin Lehner stopped 26 shots to post his career playoff shutout in the Vegas Golden Knights 5-0 romp over the Vancouver Canucks. Alex Tuch and Mark Stone each had a goal and an assist, Max Pacioretty also scored and Shea Theodore had two assists for the Golden Knights.

Vegas leads the series one game to none.

Boston Bruins 3, Tampa Bay Lightning 2

Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak each had a goal and an assist and Charlie Coyle scored the game-opening goal as the Boston Bruons jumped out to a three-goal lead before holding on for a 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning. Jaroslav Halak made 35 saves and is now 4-0 with a 1.75 goals-against average and .936 save percentage since Tuukka Rask opted out of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Victor Hedman scored both goals for the Lightning in the third period.

Boston leads the series one game to none.
