Lightning and Canucks score big wins

Our closest NHL neighbors to the north scored a dramatic overtime victory and the upstart Vancouver Canucks continued to impress with a big bounce-back win over Vegas.

Tampa Bay Lightning 4, Boston Bruins 3 (OT)

Ondrej Palat scored at 4:40 of overtime, and the Tampa Bay Lightning defeated the Boston Bruins 4-3 to even the series at a game apiece. The Lightning led the back and forth game 3-2 before Brad Marchand tied the game at three when he scored his second goal of the night for Boston with 3:58 remaining in the third period. Blake Coleman scored twice, and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 22 saves for Tampa Bay, which is 4-0-0 in overtime this postseason.

Series is tied one game apiece.

Vancouver Canucks 5, Vegas Golden Knights 2

Tyler Toffoli put up three points in his return to the lineup, and the Vancouver Canucks defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 5-2 in Game 2 to even their Western Conference Second Round series in Edmonton. Bo Horvat scored twice, Elias Pettersson had a goal and two assists, and former Florida Panthers goaltender Jacob Markstrom made 38 saves for the Canucks, who bounced back from a 5-0 defeat in Game 1.

Series is tied one game apiece.
