Nazem Kadri scored the tiebreaking goal, part of a six-goal third period, as the Colorado Avalanche defeated the Dallas Stars 6-4 for a wild Game 3 win. Kadri, Mikko Rantanen and Nikita Zadorov each had a goal and an assist, and Cale Makar registered three helpers for the Avalanche. Nathan MacKinnon had two assists and leads the NHL with 20 points in the postseason. He has scored at least one point in all 11 games.

Philippe Myers scored 2:41 into overtime, and the Philadelphia Flyers defeated the New York Islanders 4-3 in Game 2 to even the Eastern Conference Second Round series at a game apiece. The Flyers got two goals from Kevin Hayes and another from Sean Couturier to build a three-goal lead and chase Semyon Varlamov, only to see the Islanders rally on goals from Anders Lee, Anthony Beauvillier and J.G. Pageau, who scored a disputed goal with 2:09 left in regulation.
The series is tied one game to one.
Nikita Kucherov had a goal and three assists to tie Vincent Lecavalier, Tyler Johnson and Brayden Point for most points in a playoff game in franchise history as the Tampa Bay Lightning laid waste to the Boston Bruins 7-1 to take the lead in the series. The Lightning dealt the Bruins its worst playoff defeat since 1992.
