The Dallas Stars got a 35-save performance from Anton Khudobin and goals from four different players to beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-1 in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final in Edmonton.

Khudobin made 22 stops in the third period with Dallas nursing a 3-1 lead.

Defenseman Joel Hanley notched his first NHL goal to open the scoring at 5:40 of the fist period, before Yanni Gourde was credited with Tampa Bay’s only goal of the game 6:52 later.

Jamie Oleksiak and Joel Kiviranta solved Andrei Vasilevskiy in the second period to put the Stars up by two and Jason Dickinson scored his first of the playoffs into an empty net to complete the scoring.

Since the Stanley Cup Final went to a best-of-7 format in 1939, the team that wins Game 1 is 61-19 winning the series (76.3 percent) so the taking Game 2 will be key for the Lightning.
