Lightning close in on title after 5-4 overtime win over Stars

Shattenkirk goal tilts Game 3 to Tampa Bay

Kevin Shattenkirk scored a power-play goal 6:34 into overtime to give the Tampa Bay Lightning a 5-4 victory over the Dallas Stars in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final in Edmonton.

The Lightning, who are 6-1 in overtime games during the playoffs, are now one victory from winning Lord Stanley for the first time since 2004.

Brayden Point scored twice to erase an early two-goal deficit, Nikita Kucherov and Mikhail Sergachev each had two assists, and Andrei Vasilevskiy made 26 saves for Tampa Bay. Yanni Gourde and Alex Killorn scored the other Lightning goals.

John Klingberg, Joe Pavelski and Corey Perry were the Dallas goal-scorers. Pavelski’s second of the night tied the score at four with 8:25 remaining in regulation. It was his 60th NHL postseason goal, tying Joe Mullen for most ever by an American-born player.

Tyler Seguin had two assists and Anton Khudobin made 30 saves for the Stars.
