Scouting Report

The Florida Panthers are tied with the Tampa Bay Lightning for second place in the Central Division and are demanding respect from the rest of the NHL. On Saturday night they beat the Chicago Blackhawks 4-2 and will host them again on Monday night. The Panthers have won three in a row and five of their last six. Sergei Bobrovsky had 30 saves vs Chicago and is 5-0 in his last five starts with a .917 save percentage and 2.78 goals-against average. He has become one of the top goalies in the league, while teammate Aleksander Barkov is positioned to be one of the top forwards in the NHL. He had two goals and an assist in the win on Saturday to extend his streak to eight points in his last six games.

Chicago is sliding down the standings after a miracle start to the season considering how many injuries they have endured. Starting goalie Kevin Lankinen had not played in the league prior to this season. The Blackhawks have now lost three of their last four and over their last six games have allowed an average of 4.0 goals per game. Patrick Kane was being considered for the Hart Trophy but now has no goals in his last six games. The center on that line, Pius Suter, has only one goal over his last six. The Panthers will likely continue to be too much for Chicago to handle as they look to win their fourth straight against the Blackhawks.
