AHL: Rampage finish long trek by shutting out Comets 3-0

Month-long Rodeo Road Trip concludes successfully in Utica.

Tough guy Joey Crabb notched a hat trick and Jacob Markstrom made 22 stops to lead the San Antonio Rampage to a 3-0 win over the Utica Comets last night in front of 2,966 fans at the Memorial Auditorium.

The shutout was the second of the season for Markstrom, who raised his record to 12-11-3 and lowered his GAA to 2.50.

Rookie Vincent Trocheck collected an assist on all three of the veteran winger's goals. Defenseman Colby Robak picked up helpers on Crabb's two power-play tallies. John McFarland also added an assist.

Crabb's outburst gave him 12 goals on the season.

Joacim Eriksson made 27 saves and took the loss for the Comets.

The victory gave the Silver and Black an impressive 7-2-0-1 record on their ten-game road trip.

San Antonio is finally home again Saturday for a match against the Texas Stars. They will meet the Barons in Oklahoma City on Sunday.

The Rampage (24-23-3-5) are now tied in points with Milwaukee for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, but the Admirals hold a game in hand.
