Pretty quiet on the South Florida hockey front lately, eh? Other than Tomas Vokoun‘s injury, a last-second loss in Atlanta, a shakeup among the Rochester hopefulls, and former goaltender Craig Anderson returning to his old haunts for a night, there hasn’t been much to squawk about.
Gonna take a break from all of that for a few hours and simply try to enjoy tonight’s event. We won’t mention five-game winless streaks or wretched special teams or stacked infirmaries or 75-cent tickets. Nor will we delve into whether a certain defenseman should have been suspended for his actions (THN’s Ken Campbell certainly thinks he should have been, ya know, for the good of the league and all), and we wouldn’t dream of bringing up the prosperity of a popular ex-Cat who was named NHL Player of the Month for October (though no way he’s going 2-fer-2 on that award).
Who needs to dwell on such trivial items when your club boasts the NHL’s 29th-best record when scoring first?
