In a stunning last minute deal before the trade deadline, the Florida Panthers have acquired veteran forward Brad Marchand from the Boston Bruins.

The 36-year-old Marchand is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the season. He has produced 21 goals and 47 points in 61 appearances in 2024-25. He was also a teammate of Sam Reinhart and Sam Bennett on Team Canada at the 4 Nations Face-Off.

After being selected in the third round of the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Marchand went on to play 1,090 regular-season games with the Bruins, amassing 976 points and helping the Original Six franchise win the Stanley Cup in 2011 while reaching the final two other times.

The cost of doing business was a conditional second-round pick in 2027, with the Bruins retaining 50% of Marchand’s salary.

Another piece of wizardry from general manager Bill Zito.
