Cats Quickies: Repik dominates Florida offense; Panthers still fall to Senators
Yeah, there was a hint of sarcasm meant to be implied in that title, but ultimately it's difficult to walk away unimpressed with forward Michal Repik finally getting on the board when no one else could, all while busting his way out of a six-game pointless streak.
Not much else beyond that, though Craig Anderson's 37 saves and a 2-goal performance by Someone Named Greening (5 SOG) definitely deserve a mention. Marek Svatos had two assists while Nick Foligno and Filip Kuba also scored for the Senators.
As for the Panthers, Marty Reasoner secured the lone assist, while David Booth (3 SOG) finished with a team-worst -3 in 15:13 TOI. Scott Clemmensen stopped 19 Colorado shots. Darcy Hordichuk was a madman in his own world, eventually pasting Francis Lessard to the ice in a festive fight early in the first frame.
Florida went 1-1 on the PK, but 0-3 on the PP. Hits were a bit more positive, with the Panthers going 34-32 (Ryan Carter: 6), though Ottawa was crowned Faceoff Champion, finishing 29-27.
Aaaaand that's about it. There were a few newbies present at the BankAtlantic Center; love to hear your impressions of The Bank (no, we don't call it that. Ever).
More from Silver Seven here. Next up: Pens at Cats Saturday; Live Game Thread at 6:30pm.
