News: Craig Minervini returns to Florida Panthers TV Broadcast; AHL Pirates release schedule

FOX Sports Florida continued its summer overhaul of the Florida Panthers television broadcast team. It was announced yesterday that Craig Minervini, a member of the crew from 2003-2012, has returned to his old role of broadcast host in place of Drew Goldfarb, who follows Bill Lindsay out the door.

After radio play-by-play man Randy Moller moved over to the TV side, the Panthers and WQAM needed a replacement and they found him in Lake Erie Monsters (AHL) voice Doug Plagens. The move took place last week, but I wanted to officially note it here in the Litter Box and give Doug a warm welcome.

In another piece of organizational news, the club’s new AHL affiliate, the Portland Pirates, along with the rest of the league, released its 2015-16 schedule yesterday.

The Pirates will open the season on the road against the Providence Bruins on October 11. Their first homes games will be a back-to-back affair with the Hershey Bears on the 17th and 18th at Cross Insurance Arena. You can see the schedule in its entirety by clicking here.
