Essentially, the Cats’ fate – for the next day, at least – rests in everyone else’s hands tonight. They are not going to lose their third-place standing, but the spectre of Carolina gaining an additional two points is frightening. Florida may have two games in hand as of tomorrow, but it’s a moot issue when the games you’re making up are your adversaries’ victories. Double jeopardy.
