Kulikov Notches Assist In 3-2 Lokomotiv Loss To Yugra

Florida’s Dmitry Kulikov assisted on Lokomotiv’s first score, had four shots on goal and logged 20:48 of ice time with an even rating during the Wednesday tilt played in front of a crowd of 8,000 in Yaroslavl. Linus Videll opened the scoring for visiting Yugra with a first period goal set up by Evgeny Fyodorov and Marek Troncinsky. Dmitry Altaryоv would score off a feed from Sergei Demagin to extend the lead to 2-0 lead just 37 seconds into the second period. Kulikov would find an open Alexei Kalyuzhny and he would solve Edgars Masalskis early in the third period to finally put Lokomotiv on the board. Stanislav Bocharov would return Yugra’s two goal cushion, scoring off a set up from Evgeny Lapenkov at the 1:50 mark of the period. Former Panther Viktor Kozlov would make it interesting by scoring on a late power play with the sole assist going to Sergei Plotnikov. Lokomotiv would pull goaltender Vitaly Kolesnik but fail to come up with the equalizer. HC Yugra’s Masalskis would make 24 saves to pick up the win. The loss kept Lokomotiv in second place in the KHL’s Western Conference, one point behind the Alexander Ovechkin led Dynamo Moscow. Dmitry Kulikov has now scored two points in 5 games with Yaroslavl.
