ReCat: Cats Stomp(niaked) in New Jersey

Florida closed out their five-game road-trip on Sunday night with a 4-2 loss to the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center.

The Devils put two on the board in the first period. Lee Stempniak buried his sixth marker of the season and Kyle Palmieri found the twine for the 11th time to give the Devils a two-goal first-intermission lead.

Aaron Ekblad (5) and Jonathan Huberdeau (3) made a game of it with second period markers, but Adam Henrique (13) scored the game winner between their goals with the eventual game winner.

Mike Cammalleri scored his 11th goal of the season to close the scoring in the third period. Roberto Luongo stopped 14 shots for the loss, while Cory Schneider faced 33 Florida shots on net for a well deserved victory.

New Jersey’s efforts prevented the Panthers from building their first six-game winning streak since the 2007-08 season.

Florida will return home for two games this week, versus the Ottawa Senators on Tuesday and the Washington Capitals on Thursday. For more on the Devils, All About The Jersey has what you need. Check back here in the morning for the full game recap.
