Noel gives Florida Panthers 4-3 shootout win over Dallas Stars

Prospect Serron Noel scored the game-tying goal with 44 seconds remaining in regulation and notched the only goal in the shootout to give the visiting Florida Panthers a 4-3 shootout win over the Dallas Stars.

Christopher Gibson went the distance and stopped 35 shots.

Mason Marchment opened the scoring with a first period power-play goal from Ownen Tippett and Eetu Luostarinen. Tippett’s shot from the slot went off the screening Marchment on its way past Jake Oettinger.

Logan Hutsko broke loose and put the Cats up 2-0 2:57 into the middle frame with the assists going to Zac Dalpe and Henry Bowly.

The Stars forged ahead before the second intermission on goals from Alexander Radulov, Jason Robertson and Jamie Benn.

Marchment and Luostarinen combined to set up Noel at the 19:16 mark of the third with Gibson off for an extra attacker. Noel swiped in a loose puck the was sitting in a crowd in front.

The 20-year-old gave the Panthers the win by going five-hole in the third round of the shootout.

The two teams will meet Friday againt night at FLA Live Arena.
