Hockey Insider Elliotte Friedman mentioned on a Sportsnet broadcast that teams are monitoring the situation regarding Florida Panthers defenseman Alex Petrovic, who has been a healthy scratch in three of the last five games. Petrovic might not be the guy the Cats want to lose off the back end. The last two times he suited up, the Panthers beat Anaheim 8-3 and held Detroit to two actual goals in a 3-2 shootout loss.
