The Florida Panthers (6-5-1) will open a four-game road-trip when they visit the Anaheim Ducks (7-3-1) to complete the season-series between the two 1993 expansion cousins.
Brad Marchand opened and closed the scoring in the Panthers enthralling 4-3 shootout win over the Dallas Stars on Saturday. Sam Reinhart extended his goal-scoring run to four games with the 300th of career and Sam Bennett finally found the back of the net. Sergei Bobrovsky made five saves in overtime to get the Cats to the skills competition, where Marchand delivered the knockout blow in the top of the third round.
Since returning from a successful five-game road trip (3-1-1) that included a 3-2 shootout victory over the Panthers, the mightier looking Ducks have posted impressive wins over the Detroit Red Wings and New Jersey Devils. Goaltender Lukas Dostal was the hero in Sunday’s 4-1 decision over the Devils, finishing with 32 saves. Beckett Sennecke, former Panther Frank Vatrano, Cutter Gauthier and Chris Kreider provided the goals for Anaheim, who surprisingly hold down second place in the Pacific Division.
