The Florida Panthers (48-24-5) will play their final road game of the 2023-24 campaign when they face the Atlantic Division-leading Boston Bruins (45-17-15) this afternoon at TD Garden. Despite icing a slightly depleted lineup on Thursday, the struggling Cats destroyed the Ottawa Senators by a 6-0 count at Canadian Tire Centre, getting multi-point games from Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Bennett, Sam Reinhart, Nick Cousins, Aleksander Barkov and Eetu Luostarinen. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped all 30 Ottawa shots to post his fifth shutout of the season, a high with the Panthers.
The Bruins come into today’s season-series finale riding a three-game winning streak after beating the Washington Capitals, Nashville Predators and Carolina Hurricanes to finish off a successful six-game road trip (4-2) that included a 4-3 comeback win over the Panthers on March 26. David Pastrnak, who leads the Bruins in scoring with 106 points, notched his 47th goal and added an assist in Thursday night’s impressive 4-1 victory over the Hurricanes at PNC Arena. Boston trails the New York Rangers by one point in the race for the Presidents’ Trophy.
