Gameday 11: Florida Panthers at Buffalo Sabres

The Florida Panthers (6-3-1) will complete a three-game road trip when they face the Buffalo Sabres (4-4-1) tonight at KeyBank Center in the second of four meetings between the two Atlantic Division denizens.

After spotting the New York Islanders an early three-goal on Saturday, the Cats reeled off six-straight to come up with a 6-3 win over Patrick Roy’s club. Matthew Tkachuk scored his first two goals of the season and set-up Sam Bennett’s game-winner and Mackie Samsokevich notched his first-ever NHL goal.

Tage Thompson scored a pair of goals and added an assist to help lead the Sabres to a 5-3 win win against the Detroit Red Wings on home ice on Saturday The win allowed Buffalo to reach NHL .500 after they opened the season by losing three straight.

Aleksander Barkov, who has missed Florida last eight games with a lower-body injury, will return for the Panthers tonight.
