The Florida Panthers (3-3) hope the fourth time is the charm when they face the Buffalo Sabres (1-3) this afternoon in search of their first road win of the 2025-26 campaign.
Florida took the lead early when Evan Rodrigues knocked Brad Marchand’s rebound home 1:59 into the action, then stalled offensively the rest of the way, failing to dent Cam Talbot again in a frustrating 3-1 loss to the Detroit Red Wings on Thursday. The assist extended Marchand’s point streak to five games.
The Sabres are feeling better about themselves after blasting the Ottawa Senators 8-4 on Wednesday after they started the season off with losses to the New York Rangers, Boston Bruins and Colorado Avalanche. With number one keeper Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen on the shelf, former Panther Alex Lyon has been carrying the load between the pipes. Zach Wilson leads the team in assists and points with four.
