Gameday 69: Florida Panthers at Calgary Flames

Graphic design: Francisco Oporta & Todd Little

The Florida Panthers (34-31-3) will conclude a four-game road trip when they face the Calgary Flames (27-34-7) in the second game of an Albertan back-to-back.

Florida delivered an absolute gem of a road game, shutting out the Edmonton Oilers 4-0 at Rogers Place last night. Sergei Bobrovsky stopped all 21 shots faced and Cole Reinhardt, A.J. Greer, Anton Lundell and Carter Verhaeghe found the back of the net. Rookie Mike Benning, Evan Rodrigues and Sam Bennett collected two helpers apiece as the Panthers finally breached the 70-point plateau.

The draft lottery-bound Flames opened a six-game homestand with a 2-1 shootout win over the St. Louis Blues on Wednesday. Connor Zary scored Calgary’s only goal in regulation and rookie Matvei Gridin got the winner in the third round of the skills competition. Devin Cooley made 25 saves to pick up his eighth win of the season.
