Gameday 31: Florida Panthers at Dallas Stars

After getting its three-game winning streak snapped in Denver, the Florida Panthers (15-13-2) will resume its tough four-game road trip tonight when they face the Dallas Stars (21-6-5) at American Airlines Center.

A night after defeating the Utah Mammoth, the Panthers got a rude awakening when they were battered 6-2 by the high-flying Colorado Avalanche. While positives were at a minimum, Noah Gregor did notch his first goal with Florida and Mackie Samoskevich ended an eight-game goalless drought to complete the scoring. Assists were collected by Seth Jones, A.J. Greer and Evan Rodrigues while a beleaguered Daniil Tarasov stopped 36 shots. Anton Lundell, Sam Reinhart, Eetu Luostarinen, Gustav Forsling and Aaron Ekblad all finished the game with a minus-three rating.

The Stars, who are second in the league, saw a monster 11-game point streak (9-0-2) come to an end on Thursday when they were beaten 5-2 in their original locale by the Minnesota Wild. Jason Robertson and Miro Heiskanen scored the goals and Jake Oettinger stopped 24 of 27 shots before the Wild iced it with a pair of empty-netters. Miko Rantanen leads the team in scoring with 42 points while the aforementioned Robertson is up to 20 goals and 20 assists.
