The struggling Florida Panthers (30-29-3) will look to finish its four-game road trip with a win when they take on the third-place Detroit Red Wings (35-20-7) tonight at Little Caesars Arena in Motown.
It was a Tallonesque deadline day as the Panthers did end up making a couple of minor acquistions (small moves, Ellie) while standing pat on the current roster, including Sergei Bobrovksy.
Florida acquired veteran forward Vinnie Hinostroza, who played nine games for the Cats during the 2020-21 season, from the Minnesota Wild for future considerations. Hinostroza put up three goals and seven assists in 48 games for the Wild.
The Cats also claimed checking forward Cole Reinhardt on waivers from the Vegas Golden Knights. Reinhardt, 26, scored three goals and added four assists in 44 games with the Golden Knights.
