Gameday 32: Florida Panthers at Edmonton Oilers

Graphic design: Francisco Oporta

A rematch of the 2024 Stanley Cup Final is on tap tonight when the Florida Panthers (18-11-2) pay a visit to the Edmonton Oilers (18-10-2) tonight at Rogers Place.

Despite putting 32 shots on Dustin Wolf, the Panthers were shut out for the second straight game when they were beaten 3-0 by the Calgary Flames on Saturday. Florida has only scored once in the first three games of this five-game road trip. They need to get the offense back to firing on all (or at least some) cylinders to avoid another defeat in Edmonton.

The red-hot Oilers come into the game riding an impressive five-game winning streak that has seen them outscore the opposition 25-10. Going back a little further, Edmonton has won eight of it’s last nine, with the only blemish being a 1-0 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights. Leon Draisaitl leads the team in scoring with 45 points and his 22 goals have tied for the league lead with Kirill Kaprizov.
