The Florida Panthers (15-9-2) will complete a two-game swing through the Keystone State when they face the Philadelphia Flyers (12-10-3) tonight at Wells Fargo Center.
Florida should be ornery tonight after finding a way to lose 5-4 in overtime to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday, despite outshooting them 41-16 and getting a monster four-point performance from Matthew Tkachuk. In addition to a pair of Tkachuk markers, Jesper Boqvist and Sam Bennett also scored for Florida, who erased a 4-1 deficit with three goals in a 4:32 span of the third period to earn its 32nd point.
The well-rested Flyers haven’t played since Saturday, when rookie Matvei Michkov scored 26 seconds into overtime to give them a 3-2 road win over the St. Louis Blues. Philadelphia has won four of its last five games, with three of those wins coming in overtime. Travis Konecny leads the club in goals (13), assists (17), and scoring with 30 points in 25 games.
