Gameday 44: Florida Panthers at Philadelphia Flyers

The Florida Panthers (25-15-3) will kick off a back-to-back on the road when they face the Philadelphia Flyers (18-20-5) tonight at Wells Fargo Center in the final regular season meeting between the two clubs.

Florida should be ornery tonight after dominating, but finding a way to lose 4-3 in overtime to the Boston Bruins in front of a national TV audience on Saturday afternoon. Sam Reinhart’s second goal of the game with two ticks left on the clock got the Cats a point, but Florida’s leading scorer tipped David Pastrnak’s pass past Sergei Bobrovsky with three seconds remaining in overtime, giving the Bruins the win.

The Flyers, who are closing out a four-game homestand, halted a four-game losing streak with an empathic 6-0 over the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday. Leading scorer Travis Konency assisted on four goals; former Duck Jamie Drysdale had a goal and an assist; and goaltender Samuel Ersson (22 saves) collected his 10th win and second shutout of the season. Philadelphia finds itself five points out of the second wild card spot in the Eastern Conference.
