Game Five GameDay: Florida Panthers at Toronto Maple Leafs

Graphic design: Francisco Oporta (Filter by TL)

The Florida Panthers got pretty goals from Carter Verhaeghe and Sam Bennett and a 23-save shutout from Sergei Bobrovsky to even the series against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a quintessential 2-0 win in Game 4 at Amerant Bank Arena on Sunday. Verhaeghe notched his 30th career postseason goal off a tremendous pass from Matthew Tkachuk late in the first period with Ex-Cat Oliver Ekman-Larsson off for delaying the game. Bennett clinched it with a great individual effort following a stout defensive play by Aaron Ekblad with 7:51 remaining in regulation. After looking vulnerable early in the series, the Cats have gotten to their game and are now dictating their punishing style of “PoMo” hockey on the Maple Leafs. Can they continue that north of the border? Or will the Buds be able uncork their dangerous counter attack, which helped them take both games on home ice?
