Game Seven GameDay: Florida Panthers at Toronto Maple Leafs

Graphic design: Francisco Oporta (Filter by TL)

An out of synch offensive performance cost the Florida Panthers dearly in a 2-0 loss to the desperate Toronto Maple Leafs at Amerant Bank Arena on Friday. The Panthers failed to convert on four power-play chances and were only able to test Joseph Woll, who posted his first career postseason shutout, 22 times. Third period blunders by Aaron Ekblad and Nate Schmidt led to goals by Auston Matthews and Max Pacioretty as Maple Leafs bounced back from a disastrous performance in Game 5. Carter Verhaeghe has a team-high four shots, but hit the post and missed an empty net in the final frame. The rested Carolina Hurricanes await the winner of tonight’s do-or-die Game 7.
