Gameday 42: Florida Panthers at Utah Hockey Club

The Florida Panthers (24-15-2) will face the newly-minted Utah Hockey Club (17-15-7) for the first time at Delta Center in Salt Lake City tonight in front of a national TV audience on TNT.

Florida’s recent offensive woes continued in Monday night’s 3-1 loss to the red-hot Colorado Avalanche. Carter Verhaeghe was the only Cat to solve Mackenzie Blackwood, making him the fifth Panther to hit double-digit goals this season. Sergei Bobrovsky delivered a strong start, finishing with 31 saves on 33 shots, but was done in yet again by a lack of goal support from his ham-fisted teammates. Florida has only scored four times over its last three games.

The Clubbers, who are beginning an important seven-game homestand, are coming off a hard-fought 3-2 overtime loss to the Dallas Stars. Since winning a season-high four-straight games in mid-December, The team formerly known as the Arizona Coyotes has gone just 1-4-2 over its last seven outings. Clayton Keller leads the team in assists (25) and in scoring with 39 points. Former Panther Kevin Stenlund has seven goals and 11 points in his first season in the Beehive State.
