Gameday 30: Florida Panthers at Vancouver Canucks

The Florida Panthers (18-9-2) will look to pick up another road win and extend their point streak to eight games when they visit the Vancouver Canucks (14-8-5) tonight at Rogers Arena.

Aleksander Barkov scored Florida’s only goal in regulation and then added another tally in the shootout to help Panthers edge the Seattle Kraken 2-1 on Tuesday. Sam Reinhart set up Barkov’s second period one-timer and provided the clincher in round two of the skills competition after the captain converted in the bottom of the first. After holding the San Jose Sharks to one goal on Saturday, Sergei Bobrovsky did the same to the Kraken, upping his record to 13-5-1.

While the Canucks enter the game having lost three of their last four, they did manage to pull points out of two of those defeats by getting to overtime. On Tuesday, St. Louis forward Dylan Holloway scored 1:40 into the extra session to give the Blues a 4-3 win, spoiling the season debut of goaltender Thatcher Demko, who had been out with a knee injury. Defenseman Quinn Hughes leads the Canucks in assists (25) and scoring with 32 points.
