The two combatants in the 2023 Stanley Cup Final meet this evening in Sin City when the Florida Panthers (29-18-3) and the Vegas Golden Knights (30-15-4) face off at T-Mobile Arena.
Florida will look to end its four-game trek west with a winning record after beating Anaheim, losing to Los Angeles and thumping the San Jose Sharks by a 7-2 count last night. It was the second time the Cats scored seven goals this season, the first being when they defeated the Philadelpha Flyers 7-5 on December 5.
After snapping a four-game losing streak with a 4-2 win over the St. Louis Blues on Thursday, the Golden Knights fell 4-3 to the Dallas Stars at American Airlines Center the next night. Four of those five losses were on the road. Vegas is usually much better at “The Fortress”, where they boast an 18-6-1 record, but they are 0-2-1 in their last three home games. Leading scorer Jack Eichel has 61 points, which is the seventh-most in the NHL.
