Florida Panthers at Winnipeg Jets – Game 47 Preview

Florida: 21-15-10 (52PTS)
Winnipeg: 22-20-5 (49PTS)
Season Series: 1-0-1
Game Time: 7:00 PM EST
Television: CBC
Radio: 560 WQAM

The Panthers made it out of Chicago last night despite the snowstorm that delayed the start of last night’s game. The Cats make their second visit of three to Winnipeg tonight. The Panthers are in a slump that has seen them lose an eight point lead on the Capitals for the Southeast Division lead to nothing. The Caps are tied with the Panthers and the Jets are three points behind, making division games for the three teams incredibly important. The Cats gave up two to the Blackhawks last night, but can’t afford to let it happen again tonight. The Jets will be without the services of Evander Kane and Tim Stapleton while the Cats just got a whole bunch of players back.

News and Notes

Last meeting

The Panthers won 5-2 in their first visit to Winnipeg this season. Jason Garrison had the game winner.

Last game

The slumping Panthers lost 3-1 to the Blackhawks in Chicago on Friday night. The team was stuck on their bus for two hours in a snowstorm before the game, which started 30 minutes late.

Lineup

Sean Bergenheim, Scottie Upshall and Jack Skille returned to the lineup last game while Mike Santorelli and Matt Bradley sat in the press box. Bradley is apparently nursing a minor injury. There have been no updates from the team from the morning skate and the beat reporters are still in Chicago, so we don’t know of any changes to the lineup. Jose Theodore started last night, so Scott Clemmensen could start tonight. However, it’s an important division game, and the Panthers are off for a few days after this game, so Theodore could be playing in both games.
