The Carolina Hurricanes will host the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 1 of the 2026 Stanley Cup Final tonight at Lenovo Center in Raleigh, NC.

To reach the final, the Hurricanes swept the Ottawa Senators and Philadelphia Flyers before cruising past the Montreal Canadiens in five games.

Vegas eliminated both the Utah Mammoth and Anaheim Ducks in six games before delivering a stunning sweep of the Presidents’ Trophy-winning Colorado Avalanche.

The Golden Knights took both of the regular season meetings between the clubs. Vegas beat Carolina 4-1 at T-Mobile Arena on October 20, and won by a 6-3 count in Raleigh eight days later.

Panthers sign Shuravin to ELC

The Florida Panthers have signed defenseman Matvei Shuravin to a three-year entry-level contract. Shuravin was selected at the end of the third round (97th overall) in the 2024 NHL Entry Draft. This intriguing prospect is coming off a season that saw him play in three different levels of the Russian hockey pyramid. He saw duty in 21 KHL games with CSKA Moscow and collected two assists. In 15 major junior games with the MHL’s Krasnaya Armiya, he produced two goals and added an assist. Shuravin also appeared in 12 VHL games with Moscow Zvezda, where he was credited with one assist. Welcome to the fold, kid.
