Clowder Chatter: Friday Panthers Open Forum

Just in time for Halloween, The Athletic’s One scary statistic from each NHL team early in the 2025-26 season ($) is sure to terrify. Here’s what writer James Mirtle had to say about the Florida Panthers:

1.89 goals per 60 at five-on-five

Incredibly, the Panthers are scoring more goals than just two teams at even strength right now, a huge reason they’ve started the season 5-5-1. Some of that is bad luck — their shooting percentage is unsustainably low — but they also clearly miss Aleksander Barkov and Matthew Tkachuk. Brad Marchand and A.J. Greer are the only Panthers with more than two even-strength goals, and 12 players have yet to score at five-on-five.

Shamar Moses set up Kent Greer’s power-play goal in the North Bay Battalion’s 4-1 loss to the Soo Greyhounds in action from the Ontario Hockey League. Moses registered one shot on goal, got called for slashing and finished the game with a -1 rating. The 18-year-old has two goals and three assists in 13 games played.

Albert Wikman logged 10:02 of ice time and was credited with one hit in Farjestad BK’s 4-2 win over Leksands IF in action from the Swedish Hockey League. Wikman has appeared in 11 SHL games and has a -2 rating and 4 PIM.

Linus Eriksson was credited with one hit, won four of eight faceoffs, and played 12:39 in Timra IK’s 2-1 loss to Malmo Redhawks. Eriksson has collected one assist in 17 games played.

Simon Zether won three of eight faceoffs and logged 11:11 of ice time in Rogle BK’s 6-0 rout over Lulea HF. Zether has produced a goal and an assist in 13 games played.
