Florida Panthers forward A.J. Greer has been suspended for three games by the National Hockey League’s Department of Player Safety for boarding Calgary Flames forward Connor Zary on Friday, March 20. Greer will miss Florida’s home games this week against the Seattle Kraken and Minnesota Wild and Saturday’s road game versus the New York Islanders. He will be eligible to return on Sunday, when the Panthers face the New York Rangers at Madison Square Garden.
The Charlotte Checkers completed a weekend sweep of the Lehigh Valley Pahntoms with a 6-2 victory at Bojangles Coliseum. Brian Pinho scored twice and Mitchell Vande Sompel, Tobias Björnfot, Riese Gaber and Noah Gregor also activated the red light. Ben Steeves and Sandis Vilmanis each had two assists and Jack Devine, Mikulas Hovorka, Björnfot, Nate Smith and Colton Huard added helpers. Veteran keeper Louis Domingue stopped 31 of 33 shots.
2025 sixth-rounder Arvid Drott set up two goals, including the overtime winner, in Djurgarden’s 6-5 win over Modo in playoff action from Sweden’s J20 Nationelle. Djurgarden won the series three games to two to advance to the quarterfinals.
