Panthers' Dmitry Kulikov And Mike Santorelli Pointless In Europe

Florida Panthers defenseman Dmitry Kulikov logged 14:57 minutes of ice time, had no shots on goal and finished with an even rating, helping Lokomotiv Yaroslavl put the clamps down on SKA St. Petersburg in Wednesday action from the KHL. Recently acquired defenseman Alexander Guskov scored both of Lokomotiv's goals in the 2-1 win played in front of 9,000 fans in Yaroslavl. Guskov scored shorthanded at the 9:04 mark of the first period and then notched a power play goal ninety-one seconds later to stake Lokomotiv to a 2-0 lead. A power play goal by St. Petersburg's Kevin Dallman cut the deficit to 2-1 later in the opening period. Curtis Sanford would outduel Sergei Bobrovsky the rest of the way as Lokomotiv hung on for the big win and three points in the standings. Sanford stopped 21 shots in his first start of the season for Lokomotiv Yaroslavl who climbed within 5 points of Western Conference leading Dynamo Moscow.

Mike Santorelli (pictured above in action from the 2010-11 season) was pointless and finished with an even rating as Tingsryds AIF fell 1-0 to Vasteras at home in Wednesday action from Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan. Matthew Fornataro scored the only goal of the game midway through the second period. Lars Johansson posted the shutout for Vasteras while Viktor Fasth was the hard-luck loser for Tingsryds. Tingsryds AIF remained in 11th place in the HockeyAllsvenskan standings.
