The countdown until Saturday continues as the Florida Panthers and Edmonton Oilers prepare for Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise.

Let’s take a look at the how the two teams starting goaltenders have fared thus far in the playoffs.

Sergei Bobrovsky has quietly been a rock for the Panthers for the vast majority of the postseason. While the guy at the other end was the busier keeper in all three of Florida’s series, the 35-year-old veteran was able to knock out heavyweights Andrei Vasilevskiy, Jeremy Swayman and Igor Shesterkin. Bobrovsky sports a 12-5 record; 2.20 GAA; .908 save percentage and one shutout. He has the held the opposition to two or less goals in ten of the last eleven games.

Edmonton’s Stuart Skinner also enters the final at the top of his game, limiting Dallas to just four goals in the last three games of the Western Conference Final. Skinner struggled in the first half of the Oilers’ second round win over Vancouver, yielding the net Calvin Pickard for Games 4 and 5, but has rebounded to go 6-2 since then. The 25-year-old is 11-5 with a 2.50 GAA and .897 save percentage and one shutout.

The NHL’s latest team, the Utah Hockey Club has released eight logos for its upcoming inaugural season. Keep in mind these are placeholders for the first year as the team decides on a nickname and permanent branding to go along with it. Utah will using a color scheme of black, baby blue and white in year one. I would expect that to change (or not) based on the nickname they choose. Below is the best of the rather basic bunch, in my opinion. You can see the rest of the them by clicking here.

Kelly Cup

The Florida Everblades will host the Kansas City Mavericks in Game 3 of the Kelly Cup Final at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Hertz Arena in Estero. Florida won Game 1 by an 8-1 count. The Mavericks struck back with a 5-1 victory in Game 2.
