Despite not having netted a shorthanded goal since December 13 in a shootout loss to New Jersey – a 22-game stretch – the Panthers remain around the league average in that stat by tallying a mundane 4 total through the season. The Devils earlier surrendered a SHG in a Florida regulation victory on November 21, one of the thirteen they’ve allowed so far. Oh, and they’ve also scored thirteen shorties, far and away leading the NHL in both categories. The Panthers visit Newark Saturday.
