Florida Panthers defenseman Uvis Balinskis scored the game-opening goal in host Latvia’s 4-2 win over Slovenia in Olympic qualifying. The goal came with Latvia enjoying an early power play. Latvia, who is looking to qualify for the 2026 Games in Italy by winning Group E, will take on Ukraine today. Sunday’s match-up with France will likely decide the group winner.
