Florida Panthers prospect Linus Eriksson will be in action this afternoon when Sweden takes on Canada at the World Junior Summers Showcase in Minneapolis at 2 p.m. In Sweden’s last game, a 6-3 win over Team USA on Wednesday, Eriksson centered the third line and finished the tilt with a goal and an assist, his first points of the showcase. The Swedes are a perfect 3-0 so far. After they play Canada, they will finish up against arch-rival Finland on Saturday.
The Buffalo Sabres signed restricted free agent goaltender Devon Levi to a two-year contract that carries an AAV of $812,500. This past season, Levi appeared in 42 games with the Rochester Americans, recording a 25-13-6 record with a 2.20 GAA and .919 save percentage. He also posted an AHL-leading seven shutouts. In the Calder Cup Playoffs, the former Panthers draft pick went 5-3 with a 2.52 GAA and two shutouts. Levi was traded to Buffalo on July 24, 2021, along with a 2022 first-round pick, in exchange for Sam Reinhart.
