Friday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Open Forum

The Florida Panthers get a second night off before facing the Calgary Flames on Saturday at Scotiabank Saddledome. Calgary beat the Cats 4-2 in Sunrise last month, so Florida will be looking for a bit of revenge and to make it a perfect 3 for 3 on this five-game road trip that will work its back east across Canada with stops in Winnipeg and Toronto still to come.

New Jersey did the Panthers a solid by beating Carolina 5-2 in Newark last night. The Cats remain seven points behind the Hurricanes for the WC2 in the Eastern Conference, but now have four games in hand.

The Panthers returned goaltender Harri Sateri to the Springfield Thunderbirds yesterday. Sateri saw action in nine games and went 4-4 with 2.92 GAA and .911 save percentage in his time with big club. Well done, sir.

Speaking of the Thunderbirds, they have a busy weekend ahead of them with road games in Lehigh Valley and Providence before they host the P-Bruins on Sunday.
