Panthers prospect Jayce Hawryluk picks up a point as Wheat Kings fall into 2-0 hole

Game two didn’t end up any different than game one for the Brandon Wheat Kings, as they lost 5-3 to the Kelowna Rockets and now are must dig themselves out of a hole if they want their Memorial Cup bid to stay alive.

Jayce Hawryluk had one assist on the night, though he was again on the wrong side of the puck a little too often, and ended the night -3 yet again.

Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Peter Quenneville scored twice, and 2015 NHL Draft prospect Nick Merkley scored a shorthanded goal, as well as adding another goal and an assist to give him three points on the night. Edmonton Oilers prospect Leon Draisaitl had a goal and an assist, and Calgary Flames prospect Morgan Klimchuck had a two point night.

The next three games will be in Kelowna, so the Rockets just need to take two of three to win the WHL championship and punch their ticket to the Memorial Cup. The next game is on Monday, at 7:05 PDT.
