The Florida Panthers made a round of cuts this morning as its American League affiliate, the Charlotte Checkers is slated to release its full training camp roster today. The Cats will host the Tampa Bay Lightning at Amerant Bank Arena tonight.

Forwards John Leonard, Aidan McDonough and Ben Steeves and defensemen Marek Alscher, Mike Benning, Evan Nause and Zach Uens have been assigned to the Checkers.

Forwards Hunter St. Martin and Gracyn Sawchyn have been returned to their respective junior clubs. Both prospects were very impressive and the duo showed a lot of chemistry during their time in camp.

It appears that forward Matt Luff has been released from his PTO as he is no longer listed on the training camp roster and his departure would make the roster count of 42 players correct.
