Another quiet weekend passed as we navigate through the dog days of summer. One more week and we through with August. Training camp draws closer.
There was one transaction that happened over the weekend:
The Los Angeles Kings re-signed Swedish goaltender Erik Portillo to a three-year contract worth $2.35 million. Originally drafted by the Buffalo Sabres in 2019 (third round – 67th overall), the Kings acquired his rights on March 1, 2023 in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. Portillo spent the 2023-24 with the AHL Ontario Reign, posting a 24-11-3 record, 2.39 GAA, .918 save percentage and two shutouts.
