Monday Caterwaul: Florida Panthers Offseason Forum

This past five days were very busy ones for the Florida Panthers. With the opening of free agency rapidly approaching, let’s take a look back at the week that was.

June 21: Vegas Golden Knights select Jonathan Marchessault from Florida in the expansion draft.

June 21: Panthers trade Reilly Smith to the Golden Knights for a fourth-round pick in the 2018 draft.

June 22: The Cats release full 2017-18 schedule. The club will open with a back-to-back against the Tampa Bay Lightning.

June 22: Panthers name Chris Pronger Senior Advisor to President of Hockey Operations.

June 23: Florida hires Jack Capuano as associate coach.

June 23: Panthers draft Owen Tippett from the Mississauga Steelheads with the tenth overall pick in 2017 Entry Draft.

June 24: Florida hires Paul McFarland as assistant coach.

June 24: Panthers draft forward Aleksi Heponiemi in the second round (40); defenseman Max Gildon in the third round; defenseman Tyler Inamoto in the fifth round (133) and forward Sebastian Repo in the sixth round (184).

The Cats will open Development Camp tomorrow afternoon at Panthers IceDen in Coral Springs, giving fans a chance to get a look at a plethora of the club’s prospects.
